Amapola started writing for classmates in high school who paid to read her “illicit” materials. One of her stories landed on Mother Superior's desk and a two-week suspension followed. Amapola was thrilled. It was her first preview of what writing invokes. She was a professional singer at 5 – dubbing voices for child stars in the movies and later starring on her own films, hosted several television shows including her own that she produced and directed “Amapola Presents” on KEMO-TV (later syndicated in California and written-produced-directed by Hollywood's Dirk Dirksen) and performed as headliner world-wide on board ships, meeting her British husband onboard the Royal Viking Sun.
